TRACK SURFACE PREPARATION:

RACERS ON-SITE CAMPING FACILITIES:

There is an area at the track set aside for racers and crew members to camp. There are no showers or powered sites due to the distance from the nearest buildings.

Toilets are available for campers use.

NOTE: Camping is available on Friday and Saturday night for racers and crew only.

Gates close on Friday night at 9.00pm with no exceptions.

All people that choose to camp in their pit space are reminded to respect their neighbours, and to ensure that they do not encroach onto their neighbours pit spaces.

SPECTATORS FACILITIES:

There is seating for approximately 1200 spectators on one side of the track, as well as standing room for the remaining public areas of the track.

Most vantage points are elevated slightly above the track for better viewing.

There is a large, free car park for spectators.

There are numerous food, coffee and cold drink vendors situated on both pit and grandstand sides of the venue.

Trade displays may operate in the area behind the main grandstands and adjacent to the VIP area at the beginning of the pits, on Sandi Lane.

Clean toilets are situated at the rear of the main grandstand. Portaloo toilets are positioned at other locations for your convenience, and also in the pits.

The pit area is open for the public to walk through, free of charge. Always be aware however that vehicles move around frequently, and it is often difficult for drivers to see pedestrians, especially young children. Please be careful and supervise children at all times.

Camping facilities at the track are NOT available for spectators. However there are numerous accommodation providers in the Masterton area, including camping grounds, that can provide accommodation based on your budget. Check out our Accommodation page for details.

IMPORTANT!

Please take care at all times in the pit area, as drivers often can not see or hear you.

Ensure any children in your care are not left to wander around on their own, as they are extremely difficult for drivers to see, and children are often are not aware of the dangers of these vehicles moving around them.

ALCOHOL IN THE PIT AREA

Masterton Motorplex maintains a strict NO ALCOHOL policy for the entire pit area during the running of a race meeting. The consumption of alcohol in the pits by any person will not be tolerated during this time. The alcohol ban is automatically lifted upon the completion of the days racing.

Random breath tests may be carried out on drivers and crew members at the sole discretion of the Masterton Motorplex Track Coordinator under the control of any officer of the NZ Police.

Failure to comply with this alcohol policy will result in immediate disqualification from racing, and may also result in removal from the venue at the sole discretion of the Masterton Motorplex Track Coordinator.
